The American West: The Hunting Game

I have spent the last week shooting for a documentary on the hunting culture of North Western Colorado. I have been able to see some amazing sights, and met some interesting people. It’s been a lot of early mornings and some frigid weather, regardless, it has been an eye opening experience. These are some of the situations I have been witness to. Enjoy!

So I ended up placing third in the Pictorial category in the 64th Annual College Photographer of the Year Awards. These awards are a pretty big deal in the industry, and to be honored in them I am very excited. You probably recognize the image. You can see all the winners here. Also, a shout out to my current documentary partner Jeff Ball and Casey Michelle Stevens who are fellow Brooks Institute students who also placed in some other CPOY categories. Enjoy!

One of the first really large storms of the season rolled through the Yampa valley today. I put on my boots and jacket and took a walk through the snow. Enjoy.

Lyon’s Drug in Steamboat Springs, Colorado has an antique photo booth. So I made change, popped my quarters in (slowly so as not to jam), popped off four different poses, and waited the 2 1/2 minutes for the film to develop. This is what I got. Enjoy.
